AMBASSADORI HOTEL
Located in the historic center of the capital of Georgia, Ambassadori Hotel in Tbilisi had an important expansion project undertaken by Studio D73 — Arch. Marco Vismara & Arch. Andrea Viganò. A new complex of 9,000 square meters was annexed to the historic part of the accommodation — about 4,000 square meters — built previously and maintained in its original condition, designed by the local studio Qalaqproeqt.
Thanks to this expansion, the recently completed structure now has a total of 121 rooms — 83 of which are newly built — spread over 5 floors. The fifth floor of the new Ambassadori, designed by D73 and completed in 2018, includes a Royal Suite and a spa, a gourmet restaurant, and a casino.
The five-star hotel now boasts refined taste, where “Made-in-Italy” is the absolute protagonist. The style proposed by D73 is eclectic: an elegant classic with contemporary notes, where the common thread is personalized and scrupulous attention to the project.
This care to detail is especially evident in the elements created by the Italian workforce and whose creations blend with the local artisans in an Italy-Georgia cultural dialogue.
An example of this is the extensive use of wrought iron which is a typical Georgian element. It frames the stairs and all the windows overlooking the central hall and the external facades and is skilfully combined with precious marbles, elegant fabrics, decorations, crystals, woods and fine leathers. This is all taken care of by the skilled hands of the artisans who tailor-made the project of the new Ambassadori.
The Hotel, located in the heart of the old city in front of the monumental Presidential Palace, overlooking Kura River and directly on Shavteli Street, perfectly crowns the historic central street of Tbilisi, full of bars and historic buildings.
The Ambassadori Hotel is, to date, the most prestigious accommodation facility in the Georgian capital and has become a point of reference for artists who want to organize their exhibitions and events. Ambassadori is in fact, the right place for showcasing creations and art, by attracting a high-profile customer and bringing into the old city a touch of international energy.
THE ROYAL SUITE
The fifth-floor houses a Royal Suite of 420 sqm, where the sense of being in a private residence becomes even more highlighted: the target customers are certainly people who want to experience the pleasure of feeling in their own home with all the exclusivity of furniture, decor and services, an uncommon aspect compared with other hotels.
The Suite revolves around a central atrium with a hand-painted dome and elegant classic-style sofas by Francesco Molon, table lights by Paralume Marina and wall lights by Patrizia Volpato. This elegant, spacious, Renaissance-like area leads to the various rooms which consist of a living area with dining space and a studio with a piano, a guest toilet and three large bedrooms with en suite bathrooms.
The rooms are ample and regal, with classic-style beds embellished with gilded boiserie and large mirrors.
All the floors inside the suite are carpeted with wool by Ege Carpets on Studio D73’s design, while the exclusive bathrooms are completely covered in black and white marble on the walls and on the floor; the same colors are recalled by the large bathroom furniture completed with Signorini Rubinetterie fittings.
Every detail of the interior — the columns, covered in patinated wood, the fresco designed on the dome, the carpet, the piano, the furnishings — has been designed and customized to give a unique result.
This Royal Suite is a private residence in which you will want to spend time and return to enjoy its beauty again and again.
THE SPA
On the top floor towards the terrace, the 300 square meter spa has been built overlooking the city allowing one to delight in the magical setting during the winter, when you can admire the whitewashed roofs from it.
The same style has been maintained with a consistency of colors throughout the wellness area, thanks to the mosaic’s design from D73 created by Project Italia.
Under the water, there are some chaise longues designed to guarantee the guests’ relaxation; the hydromassage contains water jets, special water paths, and an area for upstream swimming to allow the customer to exercise. All around the swimming pool, the exceptionally glamorous shape of the ergonomic chaise longues by Roberti Rattan and the blue lights by Patrizia Volpato allow the guest to have a great sensation of wellness.
In the spa, a glazed sauna, a hammam, and a cold plunge pool overlook the city, offering the same panorama of the exclusive terrace: a place of peace and refreshment after some time spent caring for the body.
